Fatigue:

Mental and physical tiredness, following prolonged or intense activity.  The inability of an organism, organ or a tissue to give a normal response to a stimulus until a certain recovery period has elapsed. Muscle fatigue may be due to the waste products of metabolism accumulating in the muscles faster than they can be removed by the venous blood. Incorrect or inadequate food intake or disease may predispose a person to fatigue.

Note: Do thyroid check to see if this gland is low. A hypoactive thyroid can cause fatigue. See Thyroid.

 

Supplements: B Complex Vitamins, Vitamin B12, Biotin, PABA, Zinc, Iron, Potassium.

 

Herbs: Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly (note: If allergic to honey or bees, don't take Bee Pollen or Royal Jelly), Ginseng, Alfalfa, Dandelion, Licorice, Gotu Kola (for mental fatigue).

 

Homeopathic: Combination B Tissue Salt (a combination of Calc Phos, Kali Phos and Ferr Phos).

Feet:

Cramps in the soles:

Homeopathic: Cuprum Metallicum.

Fungus:

Bodywork: Soak feet in a mixture of one quart of water and one teaspoon of Javex. Dab on

hydrogen peroxide. Cover the area with Vitamin E. A product called Halotex, which can be

purchased from a local drugstore, can also help.

 

Female Problems:

 

Some female problems can be partially attributed to calcium deficiency or poor assimilation of calcium.

 

Foods: Monitor proteins, Eat calcium‑rich foods (see list).

 

Supplements: Calcium, Potassium, Pantothenic acid (builds hormones).

 

Herbs: Horsetail tea or tincture. Horsetail is rich in silicon.

 

General Herbs to help balance the female body: Squaw Vine, Blessed Thistle, Lady Slipper,

Rhubarb Root, Black Cohosh, Red Raspberry, Ginger, False Unicorn.

 

Leucorrhoea: Whitish or yellowish discharge of mucus from vaginal opening. It may occur

normally at all times, the quantity increasing before and after menstruation. An abnormally

large discharge may indicate infection of the lower reproductive tract.

 

Homeopathic: Choose one of the following that best suit the condition: Ipec, Sepia, Pulsatilla,

Thuja, Hydrastis, Kali Bic, Bufo.

 

Painful Menses:

 

Foods: Calcium foods, Silicon foods, Iodine foods.

 

Bodywork: For menstrual cramps, take sitz baths. Pour five inches of cold water into a tub.

Sit in it with feet out of the tub and elevated at least eight inches. Start with cool water and

work up to cold water.  Do this everyday for three months and then stop. Repeat in a year if

necessary. Make sure the bowel is working.

 

Supplements: Zinc, B Vitamins, Manganese (one tablet three times a week until container is

finished, then repeat in 6 months.)

 

Menopause: The time in a woman's life when the ovaries cease to produce an egg cell at

regular intervals and therefore menstruation ceases and the woman is no longer able to bear

children. It can occur at any age from the middle thirties until the late fifties. At the time of

menopause there is a change in the balance of sex hormones in the body, which sometimes

leads to hot flashes, palpitations, and dryness of the mucus membrane lining the vagina. Some

women may also experience emotional disturbances.

 

Supplements: Calcium, Vitamin E, 800 I.U. (start at 200 IU and gradually work up to 800

I.U. over several weeks), Muld mineral, B Vitamins, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Evening

Primrose Oil.

 

Herbs: Damiana, Black Cohosh, Don Quai.

 

Homeopathic: Sepia, Carbo Vegetabilis.  (See main heading on menopause.)

 

Irregular Periods, Short:

 

Supplements: Rutin, 50 mg.(together with Vitamin C), B Complex Vitamins, Adrenal Substance.

 

Homeopathic: Bryonia, Ambria, Nux Vomica.

 

Irregular Periods, Suppressed:

 

Herbs: Squaw Vine, Red Raspberry, Camomile, Black Cohosh

 

Homeopathic: Lachesis, Pulsatilla.

 

Irregular Periods, Heavy Flow:

 

Supplements: Vitamin A, Bioflavinoids, Liquid Chlorophyll, (4 Tablespoons four times a

day for four days).

 

Herbs: Cayenne, Mistletoe, (take only very small amount), Horsetail tea. Do not take Don

Quai.

 

Homeopathic: Phosphorus

 

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS):

 

Supplements: Vitamin E, 800 I.U. (Start with 200I.U. and gradually increase to 800 I.U.),

Vitamin B1, Vitamin B6, 300 mg., Magnesium, 500 mg. (Take only during symptoms). In

order to balance the female body the thyroid gland must be working properly. There is a very

simple test that can be done to determine how well this organ is functioning. See Thyroid.

 

Flu:

 

A highly contageous viral infection that affects the respiratory system. The viruses are

transmitted by coughing and sneezing. Symptoms commence after an incubation period of 1

to 4 days and include headache, fever, loss of appetite, weakness and general aches and

pains. To avoid contracting flu, make sure you get plenty of rest, do not overwork and do not

become overstressed. Eat a proper diet and make sure the bowels are working well.

 

Foods: If you contract the flu, limit your intake of meat, dairy products and grains. Drink at

least 5 or 6 large glasses of spring water a day and drink lots of fruit juices. Cook whole

plums and drink the juice.

 

Bodywork: If there is much congestion in the head, take a fifteen to twenty minute mustard

footbath three times a day. Use one tablespoon of dried mustard to a basin of warm water.

Rest is important.  Remember the body will heal faster and better with proper rest.

 

Supplements: Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Calcium

 

Herbs: Echinacea, Ginger, Golden Seal, Yarrow, Garlic, Catnip.

 

Homeopathic: Belladonna, Rhus Tox, Gelsemium, Bryonia, Arsenicum, Sulphur.

 

Food:

Adverse reaction, poisoning.

 

Supplements: Acidopholis to restore flora to the intestines, B Complex Vitamins, Vitamin B6,

to rebuild when symptoms are over.

 

Herbs: Large doses of either Camomile or Lobelia will induce vomiting when stomach

contents need to be removed.

 

Homeopathic: Nux Vomica, Arsenicum

 

Note: If symptoms are severe, consult a doctor.

 Gall Bladder/Gallstones:

The gall bladder is a pear‑shaped sac lying underneath the right lobe of the liver. Bile is stored in this sac. A gallstone is a hard mass composed of bile pigments, cholesterol and calcium salts in varying proportions. These stones form in the gall bladder. Gallstones may exist for many years without causing symptoms.

Foods: artichokes, cooked or canned pineapple, pineapple juice, tomato juice, ginger, egg (one at a serving, preferably scrambled), old white cheese (in limited quantities), beets, lemon and water mixture (1 part lemon to 9 parts spring water), sipped throughout the day. Be careful of sugar and fat intake. No stews or gravy, no bananas, cream sauces, dumplings, ice cream.

Herbs: Artichoke Juice, Dandelion, Barberry, Cascara Sagrada, Black Radish, Chlorophyll.

Homeopathic: Cholesterinum, Chelidonium.

Some have found the following "mini‑flush" to be beneficial. Upon waking blend the following ingredients in a blender 2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil, l or 2 cloves of garlic, l oz. fresh ginger, 4 ounces warm distilled water. Drink this and thirty minutes later drink 2 cups of seed tea, e.g. fennel, anise or fenugreek. Do not eat for 2 hours then resume your day.

Glands (Lymph):

A gland is an organ or group of cells that is specialized for synthesizing and secreting certain fluids, either for use in the body or for excretion. There are two main groups of glands: the exocrine glands which discharge their secretions by means of ducts, and the endocrine glands, which secrete their products (hormones) directly into the bloodstream.

When exocrine lymph glands are swollen, there is usually infection present in the body or impurities are being filtered out of the body. One should look to cleansing the blood. See section on Blood.

 

Bodywork: Use a body brush daily, exercise.

 

Supplements: Vitamin C, Vitamins A & D, Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin E, Vitamin B15 (Calcium Pangamate).

 

Herbs: Chlorophyll, Echinacea, Golden Seal, Myrrh, Saw Palmetto, Potassium foods

 

Homeopathic: Phosphorus, Lycopodium

 

Gout:

A disease in which a defect in uric acid metabolism causes an excess of the acid and its salts (urates) to accumulate in the bloodstream and the joints. This results in attacks of acute gouty arthritis and chronic destruction of the joints and deposits of urates in the skin and cartilage. The excess of urates also damages the kidneys in which stones may form.

 

Food: cherries and cherry juice. Reduce the consumption of protein foods, eat foods high in

sodium (see list), potato juice. Do not drink alcohol.

 

Bodywork: Caster oil massages are very helpful.

 

Supplements: Vitamin E, Vitamin C, B Complex Vitamins.

 

Herbs: Evening Primrose Oil, Safflower, Alfalfa

 

Homeopathic: Colchicum, Tissue Salt # 12 (Silica), Urea, Iodum.
