Obesity:

A condition in which excess fat has accumulated in the subcutaneous tissue of the body. Obesity is usually considered to be present when a person is 20% above the recommended weight for his or her build. The accumulation of fat is caused by the consumption of more food than is required for producing sufficient energy for daily activities.

 

Food: The quantity of food consumed should be reduced. The bowels should be working regularly.

 

Bodywork: A supervised program should be undertaken.

 

Supplements: Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Lecithin, Calcium, Potassium foods (see list).

 

Herbs: Bladderwrack, Chickweed, Kelp (Type O Blood with AB train should only take small

amounts of kelp).

 

Homeopathic: Thyroidium, Antimonium Crud, Graphites.

 

Osteoporosis:

 

The loss of bone tissue resulting in bones that are brittle and liable to fracture. Generalized osteoporosis is common in the elderly and in women following menopause.

 

Foods: Calcium foods (see list). Monitor meat consumption.

 

Bodywork: Be sure to exercise regularly. Supplements: Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Calcium, Magnesium (more magnesium than calcium).

 

Herbs: Damiana

 

Ovaries:

 

These main female reproductive organs produce ova (egg cells) and steroid hormones in a regular cycle, in response to hormones from the anterior pituitary gland.

 

Bodywork: Make sure the bowel is working well; exercise regularly, such as walking, swimming, Tai Chi,

rebounding. Have the lower back checked and adjusted if necessary.

 

Supplements: Manganese (one, three times a week until the container is finished, then do not take for 6

months), Vitamin E, Calcium, Ovarian Substance.

 

Herbs: Red Raspberry, Ginger, Damiana (two capsules at breakfast), Don Quai.

 

Homeopathic: Apis, Cimifuga, Platina, Sepia, Luesinum (for ovarian cysts).

Pancreas:

This organ is composed of clusters of cells that secrete pancreatic juice. The juice contains a number of digestive enzymes. It drains into small ducts that open into a bigger pancreatic duct. This unites with the common bile duct and the secretions pass into the duodenum of the small intestine. Interspersed in the pancreas are the Islets of Langerhans. These secrete insulin and glucogen, both of which pass into the bloodstream.

 

Supplements: Evening Primrose Oil, Pancreatic Substance, Zinc, Silicon foods (see list), Potassium

foods (see list), Manganese, Lecithin

 

Herbs: Juniper, Golden Seal (but not if pregnant nor if hypoglycemic).

 

Homeopathic: Iris, Phosphorus, Arsenicum.

 

Panic Attacks:

 

Supplements: Lecithin, Calcium, Magnesium, B Complex Vitamins, Vitamin B6.

 

Herbs: Alfalfa, Camomile, Catnip, Hops (but not if depressed), Passion Flower, Skullcap, Valerian.

 

Homeopathic: Arsenicum, Gelsemium, Tissue Salt #8 (Magnesium phos.)

 

Parkinson's Disease:

 

A disturbance of voluntary muscles. This condition could possibly be due to a degeneration of nerve fibers and basal ganglia of the brain or a defect of neurotransmitters.

 

Herbs: Passion Flower.

 

Homeopathic: Belladonna (low doses in early stages), Gelsemium for severe weakness of muscles, apathy, tremors, mask face; Lachesis for left sided disturbance; worse on touch and after sleep; Stramonium when there is an absence of pain and locomotion difficulty.

The Pill:

If taking the Pill, be aware that it depletes the body of Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid and Vitamin C.  Make sure to take supplements to compensate. In the case of folic acid, do not take the supplements but eat food high in folic acid (see list).

Poison Ivy:

Supplements: Vitamin C.

 

Herbs: Burdock, Mullein, Yellow Dock, Jewelweed (simmered in milk for fifteen minutes and applied

as a compress to the area).

 

Homeopathic: Ranunculus, Rhus Tox, Graphites.

 

Pregnancy:

 

It is advisable to stop taking the Pill for three months before becoming pregnant. During pregnancy do not take alcohol and stop smoking.

 

Foods: Plums are very good, as are apples. Use goat's milk instead of cow's milk. See Yes/No list.

 

Supplements: B Complex Vitamins plus Vitamin BI for morning sickness. Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin

C, Calcium, Vitamin B12, continue for a while after the birth of a baby.

 

Herbs: Rosehip tincture, Raspberry tincture and Raspberry tea, Dandelion, Linden tea (for 6 to 8 weeks

before delivery). To become pregnant, the following herbs may be tried: False Unicorn, Periwinkle, Blue

Cohosh, Black Cohosh. Note: Use Blue Cohosh and Black Cohosh with caution. Avoid the following

herbs during pregnancy: Ginseng, Juniper, Licorice, Sage and Senna.

 

Prostate:

 

Male sex gland that opens into the urethra just below the bladder. During ejaculation it secretes an alkaline fluid that forms part of the semen. One should have a thorough checkup for any prostate problem. However, you can help yourself by some of the following suggestions:

 

Foods: Do not eat spicy foods or meat. Pumpkin seeds are excellent.

 

Bodywork: Have the lower back adjusted. Some exercise is often good.

 

Supplements: Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Silicon foods, Magnesium, Zinc, Prostate Substance, Vitamin C.

 

Herbs: Saw Palmetto (but do not take Sabal at same time), Aloe Vera Juice, St. John's Wort, Ginseng,

Kelp, Willow Herb Tea, Parsley Tea, Juniper, Uva Ursi.

 

Homeopathic: Sabal (but do not take Saw Palmetto), Rhus Tox.
