DR. GREEN BIO Dr. Green's father, Henry Green practiced dentistry in Miami from 1946 to 1979. It was Steven's admiration of his dad that led to his interest in dentistry. His parents encouraged important artistic skills by enrolling Steven in many art classes through the years, especially at the Lowe Art Museum. Dr. Steven Green learned all he could about occlusion and treating pain (at Dad's behest) and graduated with honors from the University of Detroit, School of Dentristy in 1969, and began teaching clinical periodontics. He was awarded membership in the honoraries Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Alpha Sigma Nu. Dr. Green conceived and co-authored "The Value of Medical Diagnostic Tests in a Dental Practice," published in the Journal of American Dental Association in 1970. He practiced dentistry in the Navy, in Virginia, during the waning days of the Vietnam War, participating in a year long fellowship training program in prosthodontics. It was during the time spent in the Navy that his life-long interests in treating chronic pain and improving human performance with nutrition began. Dr. Steve returned to Miami in 1972. He practiced with his father for a year, then opened his office at the Lennar Center. Twenty-five years later, January 12, 1998, Steven Green rebirthed his trancendental holographic holistic dental practice at 550 Brickell. Dr. Green has lectured internationally on chronic facila pain, nutrition and dental aesthetics. He has been on the staff of Mt. Sinai Hospital, teaching removable prosthodontics in the residency program. He participated as a staff member of the University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital and was one of the founders of the TMJ Treatment Center. His home-study book on TMJ syndrome, published by Health Studies Incorporated had four editions. Dr. Green taught for eight years at the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advance Dental Education. He continues to be active at the local level of organized dentistry. In 1993 he was president of the South Dade District Dental Society. Currently he is pas president of the dental department at Robert Morgan Vocational School, and is president of the Holistic Dental Association. Although writing, research and teaching are important, Dr. Green's first love is family clinical care.
