WHAT IS
ACUPUNCTURE?
What is Acupuncture and How does it Work?
Acupuncture is a
documented 2500 year old science of stimulating the body’s
natural resources (endorphins, micro circulation, electromagnetic energy) to
normalize (create homeostasis) of:
… Reduction of
pain through function of the neuro-endocrine system
… Acceleration of wound healing and stimulation of tissue repair
… Metabolisation - Digestion, Absorption and Elimination systems
… Flow of blood, hormones, lymph, and other body fluids
… Function of all major organs, muscles, tendons, and bones
SCIENTIFICALLY
ACCEPTED EFFECTS OF ACUPUNCTURE
1. Acts as analgesic for relieving chronic pain by raising the pain threshold
and producing endorphins.
2. Enhances the
immune systems for both specific and non-specific immunity
3. Regulates and Balances systems of blood chemistry, heart disease, kidney and
bladder function, liver diseases, gall bladder diseases and the treatment of
depression, epilepsy and schizophrenia
.
Although acupuncture has been used in China since 600 BC, the use of steel pins
is a relatively modern invention since steel production was developed in China
only one hundred years before the Europeans. These pins happen to be twenty
times thinner than hypodermic needles and are only one modality in the realm of
Oriental medicine. Heat (moxibustion), pressure (tuina)
and suction (cupping) are other modalities that Chinese medicine uses. Humans
are superconductors of electro-magnetic energy including sound waves.
Traditional chinese Medicine is based of the circulation of electromagnetic
energy called Qi (Chi). The aim of Acupuncture is to increase or decrease the
flow of qi (chi)
Non-invasive acupuncture includes the use of sound waves, magnetic therapy,
light (lasers or red light) and electro-therapy instruments. Modern acupuncture
will see the increase of non invasive acupuncture modalities, allowing needle
shy patients to receive effective treatments as well.
NON-INVASIVE ACUPUNCTURE
… Heat (Moxibustion)
… Pressure (Tui-Na)
… Suction (Cupping)
… Sound Waves
… Magnetic Therapy
… Light (Lasers Or Red Light)
… Electro-Therapy Instruments
Acupuncture is
based on the circulation of electromagnetic energy that circulates throughout
the body in carefully defined pathways called meridians. The
electromagnetic energy called Qi (chee) can either be excess or deficient.
Qi is translated as vital breath. Acupuncture works like a dimmer switch,
to either increase of decrease the flow of energy throughout the meridians.
